My Xmas song of the day is “Frosty the snowman” and as it finally starts getting cold and we may be having snow this weekend, I think it is time for a little snowman on my knitting needles (not figuratively speaking as you can see).
This one is easily done, you just make two circles, one of them a little bigger than the other, stitch on a nose and some eyes (mine is sleeping) and add a hat.
To make the circles, you
Chain 4, close it to a ring with a slip stitch
Work 6 double crochet (dc) into the ring
Work an increase (inc) in every one of the 6 dc (12stitches)
Work an inc in every other dc (18stitches)
[the smaller circle ends here]
Work an inc in every third dc (24stitches)
Either sew on the circles or crochet them together.
To make the hat, you
Chain 5 (one for turning)
{4dc, chain 1, turn} repeat 3times
At the end of the last row keep going and chain 3, turn,
6dc Till the other end, keep going and chain 3, turn, 2dc finish with a slip stitch
Add the embellishments, sew on the hat and you are done!
