Stars are something I love during Xmas time. So of course there needed to be an easy star pattern in here somewhere 😄
To make this star you can use any yarn with matching crochet hook, if you increase the hook size you get a bigger version of your star.
1: Chain 4 and form a ring with a slip stitch.
2: Crochet 6 double crochet (dc) into the ring, end with a slip stitch (6 stitches)
3: Chain 1 (does not count as a stitch), increase 1 dc in every stitch, end with a slip stitch (12 stitches)
4: Chain 1 (does not count as a stitch), increase 1 dc in every other stitch (2 dc in the first dc of previous round, 1 dc of the second dc of previous round and so on), end with a slip stitch (18 stitches)
(option: you want to go bigger? Make another round increasing in every third stitch of previous round)
To start the star shape:
5: Chain 1 (does not count as a stitch), crochet 3 dc, turn work around, crochet 2 dc (starting with the second dc from the hook – see picture), turn work around, crochet 1 dc (into the second dc from the hook, chain 1.
To get back to the base, put two slip stitches into the two parts where you have a dc on the side (see pictures)
Work all the way around until you have 6 spikes.
(if you went bigger in the beginning you will do exactly the same just use 1 dc in more each star spike, so it starts with 4 dc instead of 3 and you turn your work around one more time)
When you are all done with the star shape you can either stop with a slip stitch and sow in your ends or you chain 14 (or more depending where you want to hang your star) and join with a slip stitch.
That is it already, quickly done and they will look lovely on my Xmas tree, I think 😊
